倫敦交通局（TfL）昨日（20日）公佈地鐵伊利沙伯線專營權招標結果，目前營運商、港鐵全資附屬公司MTR Elizabeth Line延續專營權失敗，新專營權由東京地鐵、日本企業住友商事及英國運輸集團Go Ahead合組的財團投得，屬東京地鐵首次染指海外鐵路營運。倫敦交通局表示新營運商可結合東京與倫敦交通最好的元素，新專營權為期最少7年，明年5月生效，東京地鐵承諾會帶來日本的可靠和準時服務。
