عن أَنَسِ بن مَالِكٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: يَتْبَعُ الْمَيِّتَ ثَلاَثَةٌ فَيَرْجِعُ اثْنَانِ وَيَبْقَى مَعَهُ وَاحِدٌ يَتْبَعُهُ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَعَمَلُهُ فَيَرْجِعُ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ، وَيَبْقَى عَمَلُهُ.»
ترجمه: انس بن مالک رضي الله عنه می‌فرماید پیامبر صلى الله عليه وسلم فرمودند: وقتى انسان مى‌میرد سه چیز به همراه او مى‌روند که دوتاى آن‌ها بر مى‌گردند، ولى یکى از آن‌ها با او باقى مى‌ماند، (وقتى که او را به گورستان بردند) خانواده و مال و عملش او را همراهى مى‌کنند، خانواده و مالش بر مى‌گردند، ولى عملش براى همیشه با او باقى مى‌ماند.
