روى الحافِظُ أبو نُعَيمٍ في الحِليةِ ( ٨ / ١٧١ ) عن ابنِ وهبٍ، قال: رأى رجلٌ سُهَيلَ بنَ عليٍّ في المنامِ فقال: ما فعل بكَ ربُّكَ؟ قال: نجوتُ بكلمةٍ عَلَّمَنِيها ابنُ المُبارَكِ.
قلتُ له: ما تلكَ الكلمةُ؟ قال: قولُ الرجلِ: يا ربِّ عفوَكَ عفوَكَ.
