If a brick weighs 3kg plus half of a similar brick, we can write this as an equation:

Let brick weight be x, so

x = 3kg + ½x

We can now find x

x = (6+x) ÷ 2
2x = 6+x

So a brick weighs 6kg

How much does a brick and a half weigh?
