寒風細雨中，英國近30個港人、藏人、維吾爾人、華人組織及當地居民團體，周六（8日）下午在倫敦舊皇家鑄幣廠（Royal Mint Court）外舉行大規模示威，反對中國在該址興建新的「超級大使館」。集會在英國時間下午2時開始，甫開始已聚集過千人，是近年最大規模的海外港人示威。

由於人數眾多，門前空地和交通安全島不足以容納示威民眾，倫敦警方要完全封閉門前的十字路口，車輛都要掉頭改道。

當地議會反對興建「中國超級大使館」的其中一個理由，就是因為示威集會影響附近一帶交通。
