⓻ Jabir narrated that the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

ﻗﺎﻝ ﺃﻓﻀﻞ ﺃﻳﺎﻡ اﻟﺪﻧﻴﺎ اﻟﻌﺸﺮ ﻳﻌﻨﻲ ﻋﺸﺮ ﺫﻱ اﻟﺤﺠﺔ: ﻗﻴﻞ ﻭﻻ ﻣﺜﻠﻬﻦ ﻓﻲ ﺳﺒﻴﻞ اﻟﻠﻪ ﻗﺎﻝ: ﻭﻻ ﻣﺜﻠﻬﻦ ﻓﻲ ﺳﺒﻴﻞ اﻟﻠﻪ ﺇﻻ ﺭﺟﻞ ﻋﻔﺮ ﻭﺟﻬﻪ ﺑﺎﻟﺘﺮاﺏ.

the most virtuous days of the Dunyaa are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, it was asked: there is nothing similar to these days in the path of Allah? He replied : nothing is similar to them in the path of Allaah except a man who covers his face with dust(in the path of Allāh).

Saheeh At-Targib wa At-Tarhib 1150 and Shaykh Al-Albani said it's authentic due to others.

⓼ It's gathers the mothers of ibaadah

Meaning it gather in it fasting, standing in salaah, sodaqoh, dhikru, hajj, umrah, slaughtering sacrificial animals, saying tahlil: Laa ilah illa Llaah, takbir: Allahu Akbar, Talbiyah, making du'a, and other ibaadaat which are not gathered in the likes of these days.

Al-Haafidh Ibnu Hajar said in Al-Fath:

That which is clear is that the reason of distinction of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah for the position of gathering the mothers of all ibaadah in it are: salah, fasting, sodaqoh, hajj and nothing has come in regards that for in other days.

📮↜The good deeds which can be done in these first ten days.

Abi Uthman An-Nahdi narrated: the Salaf usually consider three sets of ten days great:
The Last ten days of Ramadan,
The First ten days of Dhul-Hijjah and
The First ten days of Muharam.
(Latoo-if Al-Mu'aarif 1/35)

From these actions are


▣ 1. Hajj and Umrah

Performing Hajj and Umrah
which is the most preferred of what can be done, what points to this virtue is a number of ahaadeeth, from them is his statement صلى الله عليه وسلم:

((العمرة إلى العمرة كَفَّارة لما بينهما، والحج المبرور ليس له جزاء إلاَّ الجنة))

Umrah to another umrah is expiration of sins between them, and Al-Hajj Al-Mabrur (accepted Hajj) there is no reward for it except Al-Jannah. Al-Bukhaari 1683 and Muslim (1349) and other ahaadeeth that are authentic.


▣ 2. Fasting
Fasting these ten days or what's easy from it especially the day of arafah and there is no doubt that the category of Fasting as an ibaadah is from the most virtues of actions, and it is what Allaah selected for himself in regards reward: just like it was in the Al-Hadeeth Al-Qudsee:

(الصوم لي وأنا أجزي به، إنه ترك شهوته وطعامه وشرابه من أجلي).

Fasting is for me and I will reward for it (exclusively), verily he left his desires, food and drinks for my sake.
Al-Bukhari 7492 and Muslim 1151 transmitted it.

⇇Abu Qotaadah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

(صيام يوم عرفة أحتسب على الله أن يكفرَ السَّنَة التي قبله والتي بعده).

fasting the day of arafat is, I seek from Allah that it expiates the sins of year which preceded and that which is after it. Muslim 1162


▣ 3. Doing Takbir and Dhikru during these days

Due to Allaah's تعالى statement:

{وَيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَعْلُومَاتٍ}
And do Dhikr (remember Allaah) in the known days.
Hajj 22:28

The ayah has been explained that it's the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and the scholars prefer that (opinion) due to the fact that a lot of dhikr is done a lot in it.

Due to the hadeeth of ibnu Umar رضي الله عنهما:

(فأكثروا فيهنَّ منَ التهليل والتكبير والتحميد)

Increase in dhikr a lot by saying Tahlil , Takbir and Tahmid. Ahmad 6154 transmitted it and it's authentic due to other than it.

⇒Bukhari mentioned on the authority of ibn Umar and Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنهم that both of them come out into the market during the first ten days and do takbir and the people do takbir based on both of their takbir.


⇇ It's encouraged to raise the voice during the takbir in the markets, path, Masaajid and other places due to Allaah's تعالى statement:

{وَيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَعْلُومَاتٍ}
And do Dhikr (remember Allaah) in the kn.own days.

⇇ It's not permissible to do the the takbir in unison, since it wasn't transmitted from the Salaf and this goes for all adhkaar and ad'iya.
