Gs-3 : Infrastructure- National Logistics Policy- Announced in budget 2020

🛑How logistics work in India at the moment?-

🅾️Present article's Issue : India’s logistics sector is one of the most carbon-intensive in the world. Know that Carbon cost = Mode of transport + fuel type + distance + energy efficiency-India can’t achieve Viksit Bharat @2047 or Net Zero @2070 without decarbonising its logistics.

🔰Proposed solutions

⚜️1. Shift from road → rail=Rail = 50% less emissions than road.
⚜️2. Shift to inland waterways & coastal shipping-IMO aims to cut emissions by 50% by 2050.
⚜️3.Decarbonise warehousing-Warehouses use high energy for cooling and lighting. Use solar, wind, geothermal for ⚜️clean power.
⚜️4. Use cleaner fuels-Push for ammonia, hydrogen, bioethanol, LNG.

Q. Discuss the challenges and opportunities in decarbonising India’s transport and logistics sector.

Gs-2 : Judiciary

🅾️Context : Recent Criticisms by the Vice President- 1. udicial inquiries (like judge misbehaviour) are opaque compared to legislative/executive 2. Supreme Court ordered timelines for President and Governors to act – questioned if judiciary can direct constitutional heads 3. Extraordinary powers used to deliver “complete justice” – but lacks clear constitutional limits

⚠️Issue : Article 142 allows the Supreme Court to pass any order to ensure “complete justice” in any case-critics say it risks judicial overreach, especially in policy domains

⚠️The debate should not be about judicial supremacy vs parliamentary sovereignty — it must be about constitutional harmony. So we should Codify use of Article 142-Create clear guidelines for use of “complete justice” powers.

🔰Power is best exercised when it is accountable.

Gs-2 : IR- India- China

🅾️China filters every relationship through a strategic lens, where are all the below are instruments of geopolitical leverage-

⚜️1. Border tensions-

⚜️2. Economic investments-

⚜️3. Infrastructure diplomacy-

🅾️China’s strategy mixes hard power (border, military) with soft power (investment, influence, propaganda) → India must develop long-term regional strategies, not knee-jerk reactions.

🅾️What should India aim for?= “Competitive Coexistence”
accept rivalry without conflict, compete without isolation, engage without illusion.

Gs- 2- Criminal justice system Prison reforms and other reforms

⚜️Subtopic under this theme: Over-criminalization, procedural justice, gender-sensitive laws, clarity in legal drafting (BNS Section 69 critique)

🅾️Background- Legal issues around the "Definition of Rape"-

🅾️Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)- Central argument in the article- Section 69 of the BNS adds a new offence for what is already a well-settled principle under rape law. Unless it carves out a specific exception that’s not already addressed, it is redundant, and risks being struck down on constitutional grounds.

🅾️ Existing Judicial View: Not All Broken Promises = Rape-Example: Anurag Soni v. State of Chhattisgarh (2019): SC said: If the promise was made in good faith but could not be fulfilled due to later circumstances, it is not rape.
