โœ…UPSC Gs-2 : 2024

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธPaper might seem simple looking at the usually repeating themes, but it is not. It demands one to be VERY SPECIFIC.

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธThe objective of this post is to just reassure that if you had an underwhelming paper-2, it is okay. Please move on to Gs-3 and 4.

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธWill refrain from posting any analysis or comments at this hour.

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธYou did what you had to, it is time to keep calm- Good luck!
โœ…UPSC CSE Mains 2024- Gs 3
โœ…Gs-3 : Just like Gs-2 : On the face of it feels very easy and predictable for someone who has not given the exam- predicting the themes is not a problem for seniors but the paper has nuances and the students are Expected to be VERY VERY specific. IT IS NOT easy. There will surely be some OUTLIERS who will score extraordinary scores above average( mostly a few in thousands of students)- they cant be the barometer for your selection.

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธ Anyone who is having a low confidence , Please ignore any comments at this hour and focus on Gs-4 - Revise your examples and leave any paper discussions that you are tempted to look at. ๐Ÿ™‚

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code- watch this for background- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wotnejGVTy0

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธCross-border insolvency happens when a company or individual who has assets or owes money in more than one country faces financial trouble and can't pay their debts. In these cases, legal action needs to be taken in several countries to figure out how to fairly manage and settle what they owe.

โšœ๏ธIt usually involves global businesses that operate in many countries, and it requires coordination between legal systems in different nations to handle the bankruptcy efficiently and ensure fair treatment of all creditors.

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธUN Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Model Law on cross-border insolvency, which aims to harmonize insolvency processes across countries- India has NOT YET adopted this

โœ…Gs-3 : Economic Growth- "Viksit Bharat" goal- Role of Manufacturing

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธStatus of manufacturing : The Modi government aimed to increase manufacturing's share of GDP from 15% to 25% by 2025. โœ…Gs-1 : Indian Society- Impact of globalization

๐Ÿ”ฐThis article is important for both GS and sociology optional students

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธContext : How social media acts as a "double-edged sword"

๐ŸšซIssue 1 : carefully curated images and posts on social media= pushing them towards unrealistic expectations-constant exposure to such idealized realities can result in dissatisfaction

๐ŸšซIssue 2 : Symbolic Interactionism( for socio students ONLY)- others?- posts, images, and likes= feelings of inadequacy-can harm self-esteem, disrupt trust in relationships

๐ŸšซIssue 3 : Social media is a tool for building social capital (connections and networks)-loss of trust and real-life social interaction reflects a decline in bonding social capital

๐ŸšซIssue 4 : Following Marxโ€™s concept of alienation, individuals on social media might feel disconnected because they have to maintain an image

โœ…Gs-3 : Conservation

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธCriticism of the implementation of Project Tiger : Project Tiger, launched in 1973, aimed at conserving tiger numbers, but neglected the holistic ecosystem. The focus remains on increasing tiger numbers, not preserving the complex habitats they represent.

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธWhy is this happening?- Policies that prioritize specific numbers result in habitat manipulation, favoring tigers but ignoring other species. Evictions of indigenous communities from reserves led to hostility and reduced the local support for conservation.

๐Ÿ…พ๏ธWhat should we do it avoid this situation?- Tiger conservation must consider holistic support from local communities, with emphasis on shared benefits and inclusivity.
