Gs-2 : IR- Refugees

🅾️First I want you to understand the concept of Intersectionality - a framework for understanding how various forms of social stratification, such as race, gender, disability, and class, overlap and intersect in the experiences of marginalized groups. It highlights how individuals facing multiple forms of oppression experience unique challenges that are not merely additive but intersect in complex ways-Refugee women represent a critical case study in intersectionality, as they often endure compounded forms of discrimination and vulnerability=Psychological Vulnerability,Social Isolation,Economic Disadvantage

Gs-3 : Economic Growth

🅾️This is an important topic in prelims phase- Impact of FED rate cuts on Indian economy.

🅾️What can happen?- Lower US interest rates may lead to increased capital flows into emerging markets like India, as investors seek higher returns. This could lead to an appreciation of the Indian Rupee.

🅾️Inflation-As the Rupee strengthens, the cost of imported goods, particularly crude oil, could decrease. Since India imports a significant portion of its oil, this could help in controlling inflation.

🅾️ Indian equities could see a surge as foreign investors might find Indian markets more attractive due to relatively higher returns compared to the US. This could lead to an overall bullish trend in the stock market.

🅾️Lower global interest rates can spur investment in India, boosting economic growth. This is especially crucial for sectors that are interest-sensitive.

🅾️The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has instructed a dozen government institutes and scientific organisations not to interact with the media or share data on social media regarding ground subsidence at Joshimath in Uttarakhand, saying their “interpretation of the situation” is “creating confusion not only among affected residents but also among citizens of the country”.

A preliminary report released Friday by the Indian Space Research Organisation’s National Remote Sensing Centre, showing a “rapid subsidence” event in parts of Joshimath, was taken down from the NRSC website.
