Gs-1 : Indian society- Role of women in Indian society

🅾️Impact of Technology on Women in Agriculture: What dimensions one can use here?

⚜️1. Labor Dynamics: Efficiency by using drones

⚜️2. Skill development - Learning to operate drones constitutes a form of skill development, contributing to human capital.

⚜️3. Health wise-Technological solutions like drones mitigate health risks associated with manual pesticide spraying

⚜️4. Changing social attitude-challenging traditional gender roles by placing women at the forefront of technological adoption

⚠️Threat=potential for increased dependency on technology, which can make farmers vulnerable to market fluctuations and the monopolies of tech companies.

Gs-4 : Ethics - Social influence - #Casestudy

🔰Dimensions to dwell upon

🅾️1. How it reflects the ethical underpinnings of a participatory democracy?

🅾️2. Integrity angle- Mahto has been contesting elections since 2004, showing his resilience and dedication

🅾️3. Empathy angle-motivation to stand in elections comes from his close rapport with local people = understanding of the issues they face and a desire to address these concerns.

🅾️4. Public Service Motivation as a key factor to enter politics

🅾️5. Courage of Conviction: Despite facing losses in previous elections

🅾️6. Equity and Social Justice: Mahto's background and his emphasis on OBC representation- ethical issues of equity and social justice

🅾️7. Role of Money in Politics- see the para where he mentions the financial strain of contesting elections.

Gs 2- Indian constitutional issues-Fundamental rights

🛑Government can now allow private companies for aadhar authentication- which was against SC judgement - V. IMP development -

🔰Context :
Using Aadhaar-based age tokens to address privacy concerns- context of India's new Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023=aims to strike a balance between protecting the online privacy and meeting the regulatory requirements for age verification

🛑How does it work?

⚜️1. Age Tokens: Instead of sharing personal information, users would generate a digital token- authentication happens through Aadhar.

⚜️2. Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs): cryptographic tokens can prove that a user is of a certain age without revealing their specific date of birth

🛑Why is it good?

⚜️1.Privacy: You control what information gets shared.

⚜️2. Security: It's very hard to fake these tokens.

Gs-3 : Science and technology- AI- the road ahead.

🅾️The central thesis of the article = true understanding of artificial intelligence, particularly when it comes to achieving the level of intelligence akin to human cognition, is unlikely to be derived purely from empirical data and inductive reasoning.

🅾️AI, as it stands, cannot deduce or simulate the same understanding of the world as a human being because it does not grasp the underlying physical and chemical processes of reality.

🔰Solution : path forward involves the development of an explanatory theory of AI. Such a theory would need to explain how AI could replicate the breadth of human cognition, including abductive reasoning and the creation of scientific theories

Gs-2 : Fiscal federalism

🅾️while the central government's fiscal metrics are commonly discussed and scrutinized, state budgets, which are critical components of public finance, also deserve close attention

🅾️ There is often an optimistic bias in state budget projections, which might not materialize due to various fiscal pressures and real-world challenges.

🅾️Big variation in grants. States don't always get the grant money they expect from the Central Government, causing budget problems.

🅾️States are borrowing way more. This is concerning if they can't pay it back and could lead to a crisis

🅾️Context: Supreme Court's Ruling on Election Affidavit Disclosures-Voter’s “Right to Know” is Not Absolute: Supreme Court

🅾️Central point in the judgement is
that Voters don't have absolute right to know everything=Voters have the right to information that helps them make informed choices, but a candidate's right to privacy also exists. The intent is not to punish candidates for minor oversights but to ensure that voters have the necessary information to judge candidates based on significant undisclosed assets.

🅾️So what is the court's logic here?- By focusing on assets that reflect a candidate's lifestyle or wealth, the court wants to highlight instances where the omission of information could significantly influence voters' choices, creating an unfair advantage.

Gs-4 : Ethics / Essay

🅾️How will AI impact the future?- Jobs scenario

⚜️People either think AI will take all our jobs and make a few people super-rich, or they think AI will make so much wealth that everyone can live without working

🅾️The overlooked issue: Even if AI makes us all wealthy, the real problem might be how people will feel about themselves if they don't have to work. Will this be good for them mentally?

🛑Even if people have money, losing their jobs can cause depression, anxiety, and even shorten lives. Work gives people a sense of purpose.Simply giving people money without jobs might not solve the deeper problems of losing meaning and purpose in life.So the biggest challenge with AI and jobs might not be about money. It might be the emotional and mental impact on people who don't have meaningful work to do, even if they have enough money to live.

🅾️Supreme Court Judgment on Jim Corbett National Park- the Supreme Court announced a ban on tiger safaris within Uttarakhand's Jim Corbett National Park. The apex court's order specified that tiger safaris would now only be permitted in the peripheral and buffer zones surrounding the national park

⚜️Precautionary Principle: Understand this principle as part of environmental jurisprudence, prioritizing the prevention of environmental damage over scientific certainty.

⚜️Compensatory Afforestation: Focus on reviewing the Godavarman case (1996) that introduced the concept of compensatory afforestation, requiring the planting of new trees to compensate for forest land converted for non-forest use.
