Opposite our land in llanafan is St Afans church, it was built upon a much older saxon temple, some of the stonework and artifacts have been incorporated into the building standing there today. In the church yard is a yew tree, it's 3000 years old and stands at the centre of a circular Grove a short distance away are the remains of an ancient henge. This site would have been used by Britain's druidic peoples. Our history, our heritage, our land, our people.

Just a quick disclaimer...

I try my best to keep everything I do with The Wessex Nomad as neutral as can. I'm not trying to draw in a specific audience of any specific spiritual path or political worldview.

Everything I do is completely apolitical anyway, and I am by no means trying to push any narratives or agendas (unlike what some certain bias groups who make a mockery of our history) and you may have noticed I have never talked about my personal spiritual path in any of my videos.

The hoodie I was wearing in my last video raised a few eyebrows! And even if it may have been a giveaway in what I practice, I still want my content to be for a neutral audience of anyone interested in history, ancestry, and nature. Be it Pagans, Christians, Buddhists, or even atheists.

I go to a mixture of Pagan and Christian sites, as it's all a part of my heritage. There is wisdom and knowledge to be gained in both.

Anyway, enough rambling. Here's my last video if you haven't seen it yet! - https://youtu.be/J6Tu_Bqflx0

The Hearth of The Hooded Man hosted our WF-C National Folk-Moot in Nottinghamshire over this last weekend. The very bad weather put many off from attending but those who braved the weather came together and made this an excellent Folk-Moot. Here in England we have been misled by the hotter and dryer springs and summers over the past few years, and now we have to adapt back to the 'true' English Summer - wet and windy spells, and somewhat colder. (The 'Joten-Magic' of cloud-seeding does not help the situation either!) We did some very good rites over the weekend, with various other activities we could get in.

Despite the heavy rain showers our summer folk-moot was as excellent as always! We were just shy of thirty folk, many local whilst others had a days travel to attend. We came together to honour our Gods, our Folk and our Land. Many of us from the south of England follow the English gods – the Ese and Waene. Our northern English friends tend to invoke the names of the Aesir and Vanir – but we don’t allow these small differences to divide us. We honoured Baeldaeg and Sunna, Woden and Thunor, the ancestors and land wights and many more. It has also been our custom to toast the name of much-loved kinswoman who passed away a few years back.

Amazing new video from my pal Nord Hugr! The time and effort as well as passion that has gone into this completely blows 99% of what you see on YouTube out of the water. This has really inspired me to make something similar. Go check it out, and browse through his previous videos.

Look who I had the pleasure of meeting!

We had some great conversations, shared mead, and had a savage and intense fight (yes, fight)!

What do you think we were fighting about? If you're lucky, you might witness the whole event soon enough!
