🇿🇦 🇱🇾 On the issue of the Libyan nationals who were found at a military camp in Mpumalanga province | Ryan Cummings
🔶️ "I decided to see if I could source information from Libyan media on the development. And came across some very interesting information.
🔶️ The Libyans are members of the so called Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade that is affiliated with notorious Libyan National Army commander, Khalifa Haftar. The Libyans were sent to South Africa to receive training as 'special forces' under supervision of an undisclosed Irish security firm
🔶️ It should be noted that the Tariq Ben Zeyad militia has been found to have committed various war crimes in Libya, violent suppressing any form of dissent to the LNA and Khalifa Haftar. Here is an amnesty report on the group and its various atrocities.
🔶️ Of further interest is Khalifa Haftar - and by extension the Tariq Ben Zeyad (TBZ) militia - alignment with Russia and specifically their ties to the Wagner Group) now Africa Corps) paramilitary force.
🔶️ If confirmed to indeed by TBZ members
- with Libyan reports claiming that Haftar is already seeking to secure the release of the detained nationals - it will raise further questions on South Africa's position regarding Libya (and by extension) Russia and
🔶️ What is especially interesting are claims of how men of Asian descent - who could not speak English - were cited as being involved in several rape cases in areas near the camp. As noted, sexual assault is a trademark of the TBZ"
📝Theo Nel: It seems highly unlikely the Government would not have known about this? Is this not why we have Military Intelligence and National Security?
📝 Ryan Cummings: Very good question Theo; i think the question we should be asking ourselves is the opacity that private security/military services in South Africa provides a threat to our national security

🇿🇦🇱🇾 The Libya Observer: Reports indicate 95 Libyans arrested in South Africa are part of Haftar's forces
Saudi-based Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath TV channel said that the 95 Libyans arrested by the South African police inside a farm belonged to the 2020 Group, which is part of the Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade that is affiliated with Khalifa Haftar's forces.
Al-Hadath channel pointed out that those Libyans, who were arrested in a secret military training camp in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa, were sent by the General Command of Al-Rajma in official coordination with an Irish security company for training as special forces.
Commenting on this incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the parallel government headed by Haftar's close associate "Osama Hammad" announced it was following up on the conditions of the detainees in South Africa and its efforts to provide them with legal support as well as ensure that their detention conditions were appropriate.

Real estate development company Kanton revealed detailed plans of a new campus for Solidarity’s private Afrikaans university Akademia in Pretoria on Thursday.
The campus will include office blocks, lecture halls, laboratories, an auditorium, dedicated research halls, a cafeteria, restaurants, coffee shops, a student centre, a library, and staff accommodation.
“The second phase will see the completion of the academic campus and residences, followed by the sports facilities, a chapel and auditorium,” Schalekamp said.
Kanton said the campus project is the largest development project in the history of the Afrikaans language and culture communities and represents a major historical turning point to ensure the sustainability of higher education in Afrikaans.

Following recent comments from the University of Cape Town that all Afrikaners/ Boers have mixed race ancestry, friends of SANU together with pro-Afrikaner academics from universities in South Africa and from abroad joined together to produce this study to discuss the nature of Afrikaner/Boer DNA. The study contains extensive details and research on all factors relating to the Afrikaner/Boer gene pool.

🚰🇿🇦 Privately-run water companies come to the rescue
SA’s water problem has the makings of a national catastrophe unless urgent action is taken. Two privately-run water concessions, one in KwaZulu-Natal and the other in Mpumalanga, offer a glimmer of hope for the country – if struggling municipalities can be persuaded to relinquish control of water and waste management systems.
Here’s the problem: nearly half the water supplied across the country earns no revenue because of leaks, broken or absent meters, illegal connections and billing problems. The number of municipalities piping poor quality water has steadily increased, reaching 46% in 2022, with many parts of the country going without water for days or weeks at a time.
Now let’s take a look at two privately-run water systems that were granted 30-year concessions in 1999 under a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme – Siza Water in Ballito in Kwa-Zulu Natal, and Silulumanzi in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
In both cases, the municipalities governing the coverage areas lacked the necessary funds to upgrade infrastructure so it was decided to hand this to the private sector.
Water losses at Siza and Silulumanzi range between 15% and 20% against the national average of 47% and the global average of 37%.
