That means degrading Hezbollah to clear the way for strikes against Iran’s nuclear complex. Disabling these threats enables Israel to eventually annex Gaza and the West Bank.

With Iran and Syria destroyed, and integration with the Gulf States, Israel will become the uncontested regional hegemon of the Middle East. Given the systemic weaknesses of all of its neighbors, in time Israel will completely dominate the region.

This past year since October 7th is a good reminder about the nature of power.

All the protests, social media campaigns, international condemnation, popular disapproval has meant nothing against real power.

The politicians were bribed, university presidents purged, US government infiltrated, and Axis of Resistance bombed into submission.

This is how we have to understand our situation.

Israel has had surprising success with its airstrikes, assassinations, and cyberattacks against Hezbollah— but if the War Cabinet is seriously considering a ground operation in south Lebanon that could be a different story.

Israel certainly wants the world to think that this is imminent, whether or not they intend to follow through. Maybe it’s leverage, maybe it’s bait.

If Israel is planning an invasion it will be a completely different story than the ongoing conflict. Israel can’t rely on airpower and tech “wizardry” alone, they’ll have to overcome the tactical problems that cost them the war in 2006.

This leads me to believe the “invasion plans” might be a gambit to bait Iran or Hezbollah into a counterattack so that Israel can draw the United States further in before any major offensive in Lebanon. Then again, many said that Israel wouldn’t go into Gaza last year and then they did.

But Hezbollah is much tougher than Hamas.

Reports that Israel has invaded Lebanon and seeks to establish a buffer zone extending 20 km north of the border.

After the Iraq War and Syrian Civil War, Iran is the only remaining regional counterweight to Israel and the United States in the region.

With the diplomatic breakthrough of the Abraham Accords, Iran remains the only supporter of the Palestinian cause.

Iran possesses the infrastructure to create a nuclear weapon, influences the Shi'ite populations of the Middle East, and supports proxy militant groups across the region.

As long as Hezbollah threatens Israel on its northern border, Israel can't decisively strike Iran or eradicate Hamas and annex the occupied territories.

So after October 7th, Israel resolved to destroy Hamas, goad Hezbollah into a conflict in which they could strike a decisive blow, and then with Hezbollah disabled, Israel would be able to strike Iran.
