As this new week begins, let us pause and lift our hearts in prayer for Cardinal William Goh and all our beloved priests as they begin their annual Clergy Retreat today.
May this sacred time be one of deep rest, renewal, and intimacy with the Lord. ๐๐ป

We have recently observed a rise in sophisticated email scams impersonating our clergy (e.g. [email protected] and [email protected]). These deceptive communications often mimic genuine conversations, building false trust over several messages before initiating a scam.
Beyond email, vigilance is crucial on platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Telegram, where scam activities are also on the rise. We must collectively safeguard our community from those who seek to exploit it.
To protect yourselves and our community, we urge you to read the full advisory at https://www.catholic.sg/advisory-online-scams.
Let us remain vigilant and prudent to protect one another from deception.

As parents, we long for our children to be happy, to grow in confidence, to build strong friendships, and to live meaningful, successful lives. But above all, we want them to know they are loved not just by us, but by a Love that never fails.
Thatโs the heart of a Catholic education. More than academics or achievements, itโs an invitation to discover who they are in the eyes of God. In Catholic schools, students are nurtured not only in mind and body, but also in spirit. They are taught to love themselves, to care for others, and to serve something greater than themselves.

This July, we join Pope Leo XIV in praying for a renewed formation in discernment. ๐
In a world overflowing with noise and endless choices, may we learn once more to quiet our hearts, listen deeply, and recognise the gentle stirrings of the Holy Spirit that guides us toward truth, love, and the path that leads to Christ.

Do you ever find yourself wondering, โHow could replying to emails, sitting through endless meetings, or chasing deadlines possibly glorify God?โ
Itโs hard to see sometimes. When your to-do list is never-ending, when everything is about KPIs, deliverables, and just trying to survive the week, it can feel like God is nowhere in the picture.
But what if He is? What if our work, even the mundane parts, can be holy ground? Our faith isnโt something we leave at the door when we start our workday. Work isnโt just what we do to get by; itโs one of the ways we live out our calling.
As St. Basil said, we can pray not just before we work, but through it. A quiet โJesus, be with me,โ in between tasks. A breath of grace before a tough meeting. A heart that chooses kindness in the middle of stress.
So if today feels ordinary, tiring, or unseen, take heart! God sees your work. Heโs in it with you. And He delights when you offer it to Him, just as you are.

We give thanks to God today, for Fr Michael Arroโs 70 years of priesthood!
Born in 1931 into a Catholic family, Fr Arro first learnt about the Paris Foreign Missions Society (MEP) at the age of 17 and entered the seminary the year after. He was ordained a MEP priest on 3 July 1955, and received his appointment to Singapore the year after. It wasnโt until June 1957 that Fr Arro boarded the ship to travel to our shores, but has been dedicated to the mission of Singapore and the region ever since.
What is it that caused the young Fr Arro to willingly abandon his life with his family at such a young age, for a life in a foreign land? What is it that continues to inspire him in his priesthood?

CHANCERY NOTICE EXTRACT (CHN/CN/2025/017)
USE CATHOLIC.ORG.SG DOMAIN AGAINST EMAIL SCAMS
There has been a recent increase in fraudulent emails impersonating the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Singapore, Cardinal William Goh.
His Eminence wishes to emphasise that all email correspondence from him or his office exclusively use the catholic.org.sg domain name. Consequently, any email originating from a different domain (e.g., @gmail.com, @outlook.com, @yahoo.com, or similar variations) should be considered inauthentic.
The @catholic.org.sg official email domain is also the designated address for all Church Offices and Clergy within the Singapore Archdiocese. By consistently using this official domain for all communications, our Catholic entities can collectively bolster our defences against scammers.
The faithful in Singapore are advised to immediately report any requests for money or fund transfers received via email that appear suspicious or fraudulent to www.csa.gov.sg or www.scamshield.gov.sg.
Refer to the Chancery Notice for complete details.

In a world where everyoneโs debating what is โbare minimumโ v/s โprincess treatmentโ, itโs easy to feel unsure about the kind of love you should expect. Even within the Bible we see a range of ways that love is expressed.
But one thing is for sure, God has shown us what love truly looks like: One that is intentional, sacrificial and honouring - just like His own.
๐ This Bible Month, open Scripture and see God's plan for redemption unfold the greatest love story ever told.

We donโt need perfect days to find joy, just open hearts that notice the little gifts God places before us.
A kind word. A gentle smile.
A moment of stillness.
Even a breath that reminds us weโre held.
Wherever you are today, take a pause.
Give thanks even for the small, ordinary things.
And remember: God is with you. Right here. Right now. Always.
