🔰The Imam Shaykhu'l-Islam Muhammad bin Sulayman at-Tamimi Rahimahu'Allah (D. 1206 H) said:
🍃Q12- What is the proof that he is the Messenger of Allah?
💢A12- His saying: “Muhammad is no more than a messenger and indeed many messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will reward those who are grateful.” [Al-i Imran 3/144]
🔰And another proof is His saying: “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. And those who are with him are severe against the disbelievers and merciful amongst themselves. You see them bowing and falling down prostrate (in prayer).” [al-Fath 48/29]
💠Q13- What is the proof of Muhammad’s (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) prophet hood?
💢A13- The proof of his prophet hood is His saying: “Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets.” [al-Ahzab 33/40] And these Ayat (verses) are a proof that he (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam), is a prophet and the seal of the prophets.
🍃Q14- What did Allah (azza wajal) send Muhammad (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) with?
💢A14- The worship of Allah Alone without ascribing any partners to Him and to not take another deity along with Allah. He prohibited from worshiping any aspect of creation such as the angels, the prophets, the righteous, stones, and trees just as Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) has said:
💠“And We did not send any messenger before you (O Muhammad) except we inspired him and revealed to him (saying): La ilaha illa Ana (None has the right to be worshiped, in truth, except Me) so worship Me (Alone and none else).” [al-Anbiya 21/25]
💢And His saying: “And verily, We have sent to every nation a messenger (proclaiming), Worship Allah (Alone) and leave off and keep totally away from Taghout (everything that is worshiped other than Allah).” [an-Nahl 16/36]
🔰And His saying: “And ask: Who have We sent before you (O Muhammad) from our messengers whom We caused to make from other than ar-Rahman gods whom they have worshiped.” [az-Zukhruf 43/45]
💢And His saying: “And I have not created the Jinn and the men except for My worship (Alone)." [adh-Dhariyat 51/56] So it is known and understood from this that, indeed, Allah has not created the creation except to worship Him and to single out Him Alone in that worship. For this reason, Allah sent messengers to His slaves to order them with this.
🍃Q15- What is the difference between tawhid ar-Rububiyyah and tawhid al- Uluhiyyah?
💢A15- Tawhid ar-Rububiyyah: The actions of the Rabb (Lord), for example; creation, provision, granting life and causing death, sending down rain, causing plants, trees, and grass to grow, as well as disposing all of the affairs.
💠Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah: The actions of the slave, for example; Du’a (supplication), Khawf (fear of His punishment), Raja’a (hope for His mercy), Tawakkul (dependence and reliance on Him), Inaabah (turning to Him in repentance), Raghbah (fervent desire), Rahbah (dread), Nadhr (making vows), Ista’anah (seeking aid and help from Allah), and other than that from the types of worship.

🔰Among the causes of having worries disappear and sins forgiven is sending ṣalāh (supplications for peace) upon the Prophet ﷺ, and the effect of sending ṣalāh upon him on Friday is greatest.
💠Ubayy ibn Kaʻb, may Allah be pleased with him, said,
🔰"O Messenger of Allah, I frequently invoke the blessings of Allah upon you. How much of my supplications should I devote to you?"
💢He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, "Whatever you wish." I said, "A quarter?" He said, "Whatever you wish, and if you do more, it is better for you." I said, "One half?" He said, "Whatever you wish, and if you do more, it is better for you." I said, "Two thirds?" He said, "Whatever you wish, and if you do more, it is better for you." I said, "Shall I devote all my supplication to (invoking blessings upon) you?"
💥He said, "Then, you will be freed from your worry and your sin will be forgiven."
[At-Tirmithi: good-authentic; Al-Haakim in Al-Mustadrak]
💠Anas bin Maalik (radhi Allaahu anhu) said: Verily the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
💥Whoever sends Salah upon me once Allah will send ten (blessings) upon him and remove ten of his sins and raise his rank by ten levels.
[Imam Ahmad in his Musnad, Imam Bukharee in Adabul Mufrad #642 and #643. Jami Sagheer #6359 authenticated by Al Abaanee]
💠“Truly Allah and His angels say Salah on the Prophet, O you believers, recite Salah on him and send Salam on him completely.” [Al-Ahzab | C.33: A.56]
💠 Ibn Abbas (Rady'Allahu anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said,
‼️"Whoever forgets to send blessings upon me, he has missed a path to Paradise."

🔰The Imam Shaykhu'l-Islam Muhammad bin Sulayman at-Tamimi Rahimahu'Allah (D. 1206 H) said:
🔰Q16- What are the types of worship that can never be correct or accepted except when done solely for Allah Alone?
💢A16- From its types are, Du’a (supplication), Ista’anah (seeking help and aid), Istaghathah (seeking deliverance and rescue), Dhabh (slaughtering), Qurban (sacrifice), Nadhr (making vows), Khawf (fear of His punishment), Raja’a (hope for His mercy), Tawakkul (dependence and reliance on Allah), Inaabah (turning in repentance), Muhabbah (love), Khashyah (awe), Raghbah (fervent desire), Rahbah (dread), Ta’alluh (taking one as a deity), Ruku (bowing in prayer), Sujud (prostration), Khushu (humility), Tadhallul (humbleness and self abasement), and the glorification and exaltation that is from the specific traits of al-Uluhiyyah.
💠Q17- What is the most sublime affair that Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) has commanded with? And what is the greatest prohibition that Allah has forbidden?
💢A17- The most sublime affair that Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) has commanded with is His tawhid which is to single out Allah Alone in all worship. The greatest from amongst His prohibitions is the forbiddance of Shirk, which is to call upon other than Allah along with Allah or to direct other than this from the types of worship to other than Allah. So whomsoever directs anything from the types of worship to other than Allah, he has taken that as a lord and deity and has associated partners along with Allah no matter what he has intended to put forth as an act of worship from any of its types.
🍃Q18- What are the three affairs that are waajib (obligatory) upon every Muslim and Muslimah to have knowledge of and act upon?
💢A18- 1️⃣The first affair: Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) has created us and provided provision for us, and He has not left us alone to follow our own whims and desires. Rather, He has sent a messenger to us, so whoever obeys him enters Jannah and whoever defies him enters the fire of Hell.
2️⃣The second affair: Allah is not pleased with associating any partners with Him in His worship (i.e., Shirk) regardless if that Shirk is with an angel that is close to him or a prophet who He has sent.
3️⃣The third affair: Whoever obeys RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam), and singles out Allah alone in worship, it is not permissible for him to take companionship and rapport with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) even if they are from the closest of relatives.
🔰Q19- What is the meaning of Allah?
💢A19- Its meaning is the One Who has all rights of (al-Uluhiyyah and al-Ubudiyyah) worship over the entire of His creation.
🍃Q20- For what purpose did Allah create you?
💢A20- To worship Him, and Him Alone.

🍃The Imam Shaykhu'l-Islam Muhammad bin Sulayman at-Tamimi Rahimahu'Allah (D. 1206 H) said:
🔰Q21- What is His worship?
☝️A21- His tawhid and obedience to Him.
💠Q22- What is the proof for that?
💢A22- His saying: “And I have not created the Jinn and the men except for My worship (Alone)." [adh-Dhariyat 51/56]
🍃Q23- What is the first thing that Allah has obligated upon us?
💢A23- Total disbelief (kufr) in Taghout (everything that is worshiped other than Allah) and complete faith (iman) in Allah and the proof of this is His saying:
💥“There is no compulsion in the Din (religion). Truly, the right path has been made clear and distinct from the wrong path. So whoever disbelievers in Taghout and believes in Allah; then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower." [al-Baqarah 2/256]
🔰Q24- What is the most trustworthy handhold that will never break?
☝️A24- La ilaha illa Allah (none has the right to be worshiped, in truth, except Allah). The meaning of La ilaha (there is no deity worthy of worship in truth) is negation and illa Allah (except Allah) is affirmation.
💠Q25- What do we mean here by negation and affirmation?
💢A25- Negation of everything that is worshiped other than Allah, as well as, the affirmation that all worship is for Allah Alone Who has no partners, nor associates whatsoever in this worship.
🍃Q26- What is the proof for that?
💢A26- His saying: “And remember when Ibrahim said to his father and his people, ‘Verily, I am innocent and free from what you worship.” [az-Zukhruf 43/26] And that is the proof of negation.
⭕️“Except Him (i.e., Allah) Who created me.” [az-Zukhruf 43/27] And that is the proof of affirmation.
💠Q27- How many are the Taghout?
♨️A27- The Taghout are many and their pinnacle is five:
1️⃣Iblis, may Allah curse him,
2️⃣whoever is worshiped and is pleased with that worship,
3️⃣whoever calls the people to the worship of himself,
4️⃣whoever claims and calls to having knowledge of the unseen,
5️⃣and whoever rules by other than what Allah has revealed."

♨️Hammad bin Zayd was asked is it permissible to pray behind someone who says the Qur'an is created? He said: No, and no honer (for him).
🔰Hammaad bin Zayd said: To say that Ali (Rady'Allahu anhu) is better than Uthman (Rady'Allahu anhu) is the same as saying the companions of the prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) did treachery."

💥Aqidatu's-Salaf Ashabu'l-Hadith
💢 Part : 1
💠The Creed of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) the people of hadith by Shaykhu'l-Islam Imam Abu Uthman Ismail ibn Abdur-Rahman as-Sabuni (d. 449 AH/1057 CE), a prominent Sunni scholar of the Shafi’i school of jurisprudence and an adherent of the Athari (traditionalist) creed.
🔰About the Book: The book outlines the beliefs of the Salaf (the early generations of Muslims) and the Ashab al-Hadith (the People of Hadith), emphasizing a commitment to the Qur’an and Sunnah as understood by the early Muslim community.
⭕️It defends traditional Islamic theology against heretical sects, particularly those influenced by speculative theology (Kalam) or rationalism, such as the Mu’tazilites and Jahmiyya.
💢Deviations from the Straight Path did not appear in the Ummah until the people left the Revelation of Allah (azza wajal) and the methodology, clearly expounded by our pious predecessors, replacing it for man-made ideologies. This sometimes consisted of Greek philosophy as well as the ignorant deviations of man’s intellect. This changed the religion of Allah azza wajal), to such an extent that the Ummah splintered into groups, each of these developing its own methodology, way, leaders and followers.
🔰In every period of weakness and deviation Allah subhanahu wa taala has raised scholars who correct and, thus preserve the creed of Ahlu's-Sunnah wa'l-Jamaa'ah. They safeguard it and refute those who oppose it. This is so, even today and shall be until the Day of Judgement, in shaa Allah ta'ala.
💢A great number of scholars of Ahlu's-Sunnah have authored many books, clarifying the correct creed, which is obligatory for every Muslim to believe. One such book is the one in the reader’s hands, entitled Aqidatu's-Salaf Ashabu'l-Hadith, by Shaykhu'l-Islam Imam Abu Uthman Ismail ibn Abdur-Rahman as-Sabuni. He mentioned the importance of returning to the creed which the scholars of the Ummah were united upon.
💥It is hoped that this book proves beneficial to the reader, enabling him to become stronger upon the foundations of this Din.
**
💠Indeed all praise is due to Allah, we praise Him and we seek His help and forgiveness. I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) is His final Messenger.
💥This is an English translation of one of the most famous books on aqidah (Creed). It has been published several times in Arabic and it continues to be popular amongst the students of knowledge, as a beginning to understand the fundamentals of this religion.
💢I have particularly chosen to translate this book because of its status, and due to it being easily understood by the student who has just started his journey in the search of knowledge. It is also very concise, thus making it very easy, in shaa Allah ta'ala, to memorise along with its evidences.

💥Aqidatu's-Salaf Ashabu'l-Hadith
💢 Part : 2
💠Sufyan ath-Thawri (Rahimahu'Allah) reported to have said: “The isnaad is the weapon of the believer. So if he has no weapon, with what will he fight?”
🔰Ibn al-Mubaarak (Rahimahu'Allah) reported to have said: “The isnaad with me is from the Din. If there were no isnaad, then whosoever wanted would relate whatever they wanted.”
💢Ibn Sirin (Rahimahu'Allah) reported to have said: “They never used to ask about the isnaad, but when the civil war broke out, they said: Name to us your men; those who belonged to Ahlu's-Sunnah, their Ahadith were accepted and those who were innovators, their Ahadith were rejected.”
⭕️The aqidah and Manhaj of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) , and his Companions, have been transmitted to us through the noble scholars, who replied to all the innovators and heretics by writing many books, varying from a few pages to many volumes. They were always quick to reply and defend the aqidah, from all types of religious unorthodoxy.
🍃They defined the correct way and described its signs to reach the right path. They described the traits of the heretics, as well as the upholders of the truth, as is mentioned by as-Sabuni in this book, particularly in the last three chapters. It is essential to understand who the People of Hadith are and why we must follow their Manhaj and to know before delving into this book, that they are Ahlu's-Sunnah wa'l-Jamaa’ah, the saved sect. Allah says:
💠“And hold fast, all of you, to the Rope of Allah and do not be divided among yourselves.” [Al-i Imran 3/103]
🔰RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) reported to have said: “…My Urnmah will split up into seventy three sects. One will be in paradise and seventy two will be in the fire”. It was said: “Who are they, O RasulAllah?” He (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) replied: “They are the Jamaa’ah.” [Ibn Maajah]
🍃He (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) also reported to have said: “There will not cease to be a group from amongst my Ummah, upholding the truth. They will not be harmed by those who abandon them, until Allah‘s affair comes to pass and they are uppermost.” [Muslim; Tirmidhi; Ibn Maajah]
💢There are many texts to be found in the Qur’an and the Sunnah that describe the Saved Sect. Some of the statements of the scholars, to demonstrate their understanding of the ayat and the ahadith are mentioned below.
💠Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (Rahimahu'Allah) said: “If the aided group is not the People of Hadith, Then I have no idea who it is.” [Hakim, Ma’rifah Ulumu'l-Hadith, 2]

🔰Khatib al-Baghdadi (Rahimahu'Allah) said: “And if only, the person of blameworthy opinions was to occupy himself with beneficial knowledge and if he were to seek the Sunnah of RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam), and that he followed the way of the scholars and the People of Hadith, he would find that which would enrich him, as to whatever he sought. The ahadith contain the knowledge of tawhid and the explanation of what is to come, in the form of threats and promises.
💢They contain the Attributes of The Lord of the worlds and the descriptions of Paradise and Hell and also what He has prepared therein, for the righteous and the wicked and what Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) has created in the earth and the heavens. They have stories of the past nations and a description of his battles, expeditions, predictions, judgments and rulings, also the description of his family and Companions and their noble qualities.

💠The Author's Introduction and Reason Why this Book was Written
1️⃣ All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds and success is for the Muttaqin. The praise of Allah be upon Muhammad and upon his Family and noble Companions.
2️⃣ To proceed: While passing through the lands of Aamol in Tabaristan and Jilaan on my way to the House of Allah, and to visit the grave of His Prophet Muhammad [⭕️1]
[⭕️1] It would have been more appropriate for the author to have said: “To visit the Masjid of His Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa Sallam), because only this is permissible as regards visiting and not intending to visit the grave alone. Refer to the book ar-Radd ala aI-Akhnaa’i wa lsthabaab Ziyaarah Khair al-Bariyyah az-Ziyaarah ash-Shari’ah and the book al-Jawaab al-Baahir fi Zawaar al-Maqaabir, both written by Ibn Taymiyyah.
Ahlu's-Sunnah do not blindly stick to any one person other than that of RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam). Belief and manhaj are not connected to any one person but rather to the body of the Salaf. So when one errs, that error is not falsely justified nor is it used as a basis for disowning him, as all creation are fallible barring the Prophet.]
💢, his (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) Family and noble Companions, some of my brothers in Islam asked me to compile for them chapters about the fundamentals of this Religion, which those who passed away from amongst the scholars and the Salaf as-Salihin adhered to, called the people to at all times, which they forbade the believers, the truthful ones and the Muttaqin from all that contradicted and nullified them and upon which (the scholars) showed allegiance to its followers and enmity to it’s rejectors.
🔰They labelled all those who opposed their creed as unbelievers and innovators.[⭕️2]
[⭕️2] This is a general statement. One who opposes the correct way is only labelled an innovator and/or an unbeliever after satisfying stringent rules laid down by the Qur’an and Sunnah and expounded upon and categorized by the scholars.]
🍃They earned for themselves and for those who they called (to their aqidah), its blessings, favours and goodness. They passed on to the ones who followed them the rewards of their aqidah. They encouraged them to cling to it, guided the worshippers to it and spurred them on towards it.
💠So I made Istikhaarah to Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) and have recorded in this treatise what I have been able to concisely with the hope that those with understanding and insight might benefit by it. It is Allah who realizes (makes true) the hope and may He generously bestow upon us blessings in accordance to what is right, the truth, guidance and uprightness upon the correct and truthful path by His favour and Benevolence.
💢Chapter 2 - The Creed of the People of Hadith Regarding the Attributes of Allah
3️⃣ With Allah lies all success. Indeed the People of Hadith are those who adhere to the Qur’an and Sunnah; may Allah protect those of them who are alive and have mercy on those who have passed away. They bear witness to the unity of Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) and to the message and prophethood of the Messenger. They know their Lord, The Most Mighty and The Most Majestic, through those Attributes which He has mentioned in His revelation which He has sent down, or which His Messenger attested to in the authentic ahaadeeth which have been related by the precise and trustworthy ones from him.
🍃They affirm what Allah, The Most Majestic, has affirmed for Himself in His Book or through the tongue of His Messenger. They do not believe in comparing His Attributes with those of His creation. They say: He created Aadam with His Hands just as He, The One free of all deficiencies, mentions: “He said: O Iblis what prevented you from prostrating before that which I have created with My Two Hands.” [as-Sad 38/75]
💢They do not change the meaning from its place, by saying His Two Hands mean His two bounties or His two powers like the tahrif of the Mu'tazilah and the Jahmiyyah, may Allah destroy them.

💥Aqidatu's-Salaf Ashabu'l-Hadith
💢 Part : 5
💠Chapter 3- Their Stance Reqarding the Attributes
4️⃣ The People of Hadith also say about all of their Lord’s Attributes which were revealed, whether mentioned in the Qur’an or mentioned in the authentic ahadith regarding the Hearing, the Seeing, the Eyes, the Face, the Knowledge, the Strength, the Power, the Glory, the Greatness, the Will, the Intent, the Speech, the Words, being Pleased, being Displeased, Life, to be Watchful, to be Happy to Laugh and others, that these Attributes are not compared with the attributes of the creation.
🔰On the contrary, they limit themselves to what Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) said and to what His Messenger, said without adding anything to them, saving how they are, likening them, distorting and changing their meanings or making any alterations, taking them out of the context in which the Arabs understood them, attaching to them false interpretations.
🍃They take them on their apparent meanings. They entrust its understanding to Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) and they affirm that none knows it’s ta‘wil except Allah[⭕️3]
[⭕️3] Irnam as Sabuni says in a few areas: ‘They entrust its knowledge (i.e. of the Sifaat of Allah) to Allah. The knowledge of Sifaat is of two types:
a- Knowledge of the meanings
b- Knowledge of the nature
So his statement is general, but he intends the second type. This is the madhhab of the Salaf, and what I want you to understand from his context and the whole book.
The Mufawiddah are those who entrust both types of Knowledge to Allah. The verse he refers to (above) is also understood in two different ways:
a- ‘None but Allah knows its ta’wil (stop). And those firmly grounded in knowledge...’. So regarding the Sifaat; Only Allah knows their true nature and the Salaf make tafwidh in that issue. (The mubtad’ah tried to include the knowledge of the meanings in this context which is false).
b- ‘None but Allah knows its ta’wil and those firmly grounded in knowledge...’. This is in reference to those issues which the masses are not clear about and only the scholars know and explain it. In this recitation the Sifaat do not enter.]
💢, just as Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) has informed us about those who are firmly grounded in knowledge, that they say: “And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: ‘We believe in all that is from our Lord; and none receive admonition except the men of understanding.’” [Al-i Imran 3/7]
5️⃣ The verses of the Qur’an and the authentic and clear narrations of RasulALlah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam), which mention these Attributes and others, are so numerous that they will lengthen the book and it would be even more so by mentioning the consensus of the scholars and the aa'immah of this religion on the authenticity of the narrations.
💥Most of the narrations are collected in my book al-Intisaar with their authentic asaanid. Our methodology in this book was to make it concise, to a bare minimum without bringing too many narrations and to mention their authentic asaanid declared so by carriers of the reports and by the compilers of the large authentic masanaad.

💠Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) talked about Friday and said,
💥"There is an hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while praying and asks something from Allah, then Allah will definitely meet his demand."
🔰And he (the Prophetﷺ) pointed out the shortness of that time with his hands.

💢 Part : 6
🔰Chapter 7- The Position of the Salaf (Regarding These Narrations)
💠72- Yazid ibn Harun related in a meeting a Hadith of Ismail ibn Abi Khaalid, from Qais ibn Abi Haazim, from Jarir ibn Abd-Allah (Rady'Allahu anhu), that RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) said:
🍃“Indeed you will see your Lord, like you see the full moon.” [Ibn Khuzaimah, Kitaabu't-Tawhid, 1/407-411]
‼️So a man in the meeting said to him: ‘O Abu Khaalid, what is the meaning of this Hadith?’ Yazid ibn Harun became upset and replied:
♨️“You remind me of Sabigh (a man who was punished for questioning ambiguous matters), and you deserve the same treatment. Woe to you! Who can go beyond what this hadith says or interpret it based on personal opinion? Only someone who mocks himself and his religion would do so. When you hear a hadith from the Prophet ﷺ, follow it without adding anything new. If you accept it as it is, you will be safe. But if you argue about it, you will be ruined.”
⭕️73- The story of Sabigh which Yazid ibn Haarun referred to when he said: “How great is your resemblance to Sabigh and how great is your need for that which was done to him.” It is related by Yahya ibn Sa’ed from Sa’ed ibn al-Musayyab: That Sabigh at-Tamimi came to the chief of believers, Umar ibn al-Khattab (Rady'Allahu anhu), and said:
🔰‘O chief of the believers, tell me about the ayah: “The Dhaariyaat that scatter dust” He replied: “It is the winds and if I had not heard RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) say so, I would not have said it.” Sabigh said: ‘So tell me about the ayah: “And they bear the heavey weight of water.” He replied: “It means the clouds, and If I had not heard RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) say so, I would not have said it.”
💠Sabigh said: “So tell me about the ayah: “And those who distribute by command.” He replied: “It means the Angels, and If I had not heard RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam), say so, I would not have said it.” Sabigh said: “So tell me about the ayah: “And those which float with ease.” He replied: “It means the ships, and If I had not heard RasulAllah (sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) say so, I would not have said it.”
💥Then Umar (Rady'Allahu anhu) ordered the man to be whipped one hundred times. Then he was confined to a room. When he had recovered, he was called for and he was whipped again one hundred times until he was carried away on a saddle. Then Umar (Rady'Allahu anhu) wrote to Abu Musa al-Ash’ari (Rady'Allahu anhu) stating that he (i.e., Sabigh) was to be prevented from attending the meetings of the people.
💢That remained the case, until Sabigh came to Abu Musa (Rady'Allahu anhu) and swore that there was not anything in him now from what was in him before. So Abu Musa (Rady'Allahu anhu) wrote to Umar (Rady'Allahu anhu), who replied: I think that he has indeed spoken the truth so let him be with the people.
[Bazzaar, 299; Ibn Kathir, Tafsir, 7/390; Ibh Hajar, al-Isaabah 2/199. Aajuri says in ash-Shari'ah p.74]
🍃 “The man was whipped because he used to seek the interpretation of the unclear ayaha of the Qur'an (the mutashaabih) and he used to busy himself with knowledge which was not beneficial.”
