Abelian has released new versions of the Full Node and CLI Wallet after a successful hard fork at block height 284,000. The updates, abec v0.13.0 and abewallet v0.13.1, support Windows, macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon), and Linux (including ARM). Key improvements include a new Difficulty Smoothing Algorithm (DSA) for better network stability and minor bug fixes.
Abec v0.13.0 offers three node modes:
🔷 Fullnode: Requires over 750GB.
🔷 Semifullnode: Requires around 177GB.
🔷 Normalnode: Requires about 113GB.
AbeWallet v0.13.1 users are advised to re-import their wallets using the 24-word mnemonic list to refresh their local wallet database and avoid issues.

Quantum threats to data security and business operations are no longer a distant concern, due to a strategy known as Hack-Now, Decrypt-Later (HNDL).
Hackers download encrypted data, knowing they can't read it yet, but anticipating it will become readable and valuable when quantum computing advances.
Nation-state actors are likely behind many HNDL attacks. Examples include rerouting internet traffic through China and Russia, and North Korean crypto hackers stealing $3B.
Quantum computers, using Shor's algorithm, can efficiently solve problems underpinning public key cryptography. This poses a significant threat to blockchain security, as quantum computers could break private keys in hours.
NIST aims to secure systems by 2035 with post-quantum cryptography standards. Projects like Algorand and Abelian are developing quantum-resistant blockchain systems to tackle these threats.
Abelian uses a Proof of Stake design and its security token $QDAY for an efficient quantum-resistant Layer 2 solution with high transactions per second (TPS).
