流媒体巨头 Netflix 的联席 CEO Ted Sarandos 称，在新冠疫情之后大部分现场娱乐活动已经恢复正常甚至出现反弹，只有电影院是例外，他认为电影院正在死亡。他说，几乎所有现场活动都恢复了，百老汇音乐剧打破了记录，体育赛事、音乐会等等所有在疫情期间无法举办的活动都回归了，而且规模比以往更大。然而电影院票房比疫情前下降了 40% 到 50%，今年至今下降了 8%，不去看电影的趋势没有逆转。
