We’ve all been there — standing at a crossroads, caught between choices, or simply feeling lost. In a world full of noise, pressure, and uncertainty, it’s so easy to lean on what’s quick, easy, or expected. But not everything that looks good is right for us. And not every open door is meant to be walked through.

That’s why 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. Because God has a unique, beautiful plan for each of us and we need His wisdom to see it. Discernment helps us pause, listen, and choose not just what 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘴 good, but what truly brings life.

It's how we learn to recognise His voice in the stillness, and to follow it with trust even when the road is unclear. This month, Pope Leo XIV invites us to pray for the 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: that we may grow in the wisdom to choose what leads to life, and the courage to turn away from anything that draws us away from Christ.

Do you find it difficult to celebrate the joys and success of others? Do you look at them with eyes of envy, wishing the blessing they’ve received would belong to you instead? In other words, do you become sad when the other is happy – or essentially, happy that the other is sad?

An envious man is blind to his own blessings and fixates himself on the blessings of others. He navigates life with an attitude of scarcity, birthing in him a great desire for what others have in light of what he believes he doesn’t. What an envious man needs to realise is that the gifts, skills, and blessings of others don’t take anything away from the gifts, skills, and blessings of his.

Let us place ourselves under the gaze of our Heavenly Father so that we may no longer relate with one another with a competitive spirit, but find confidence in the Father’s claim over us as His children 💖
