The OIST Graduate School offers education and research opportunities through our Research Internship program in STEM fields. The internship is typically 3 to 6 months. These short-term placements give students the opportunity to gain experience in a particular laboratory or to learn a specific technique. Research Interns will work under the direction of a Professor and contribute to the research activities of OIST.

The ETH Postdoctoral Fellowship programme (ETH Fellows) supports incoming postdoctoral researchers at ETH Zurich. The programme is intended to foster young researchers who have already demonstrated scientific excellence in the early stages of their careers. This prestigious early career programme is geared towards high potential academics with 40-50% of the fellows securing a professorship within a few years after the fellowship

Eligibility
At the time of the submission deadline, applicants must hold a doctorate (PhD) or will complete their doctorate within the next six months. Applicants with the doctorate (PhD) must have obtained it a maximum of two years prior to the submission deadline. The decisive date is the date of the examination or defense/viva voce.

Applicants who have not yet completed their doctorate must submit a certification of the planned date of their defense signed by the advisor or department chair. The examination or defense/viva voce must have been completed by the time the fellowship is started (and no later than six months after the deadline).

With a diverse group of 18 academic departments participating in this program, students should be able to find a department in which to further their research, acquire broader knowledge and understanding, and conduct advanced long-term research in a field that best matches their interests and background. Qualified international students, who may have little or no knowledge of the Japanese language, to enroll in Institute of Science Tokyo's Master's, Doctoral, or Integrated Doctoral Education Program and pursue an advanced degree in Japan. However, students are given opportunities to attend Japanese language classes on a regular basis in order to better adapt to daily life in Japan.

To deepen the academic friendship and mutual understanding between the Chinese and foreign young generations, and to build a platform for the international exchanges and cooperation of young talents, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) has established the China Link Scholarship Program for international students and faculty members hoping to engage in academic and research activities in China. Appendix 1 contains the details of the program introduction.

Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship from CSC during their stay in China, including tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for general scholars; CNY 3,500 for senior scholars).

Eligibility

1. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, have good moral character and academic excellence, and be in good health, both mentally and physically.

2. Be under 45 years of age when applying for general scholarships.

Be under 50 years of age when applying for senior scholars.

3. Be registered as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff at the CSC’s foreign partner universities at the time of application and throughout their proposed stay in China. Appendix 2 lists the CSC’s foreign partner universities.

4. Have received either a pre-admission letter or an invitation letter issued by HIT.

Admission requirements for the External Scholarship Program for International Students:

1. The applicant must have completed high school or have an equivalent degree, and the overall grade must be at least very good.

2. The maximum duration after completing high school should be five years or less.

3. The applicant must be between the ages of 17 and 25 to be eligible

4. The applicant must obtain approval from their home country's government to study in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia if their country requires it.

5. The applicant can not have previously received a scholarship from a university or educational institution in Saudi Arabia.

6. Certificates and documents must be authenticated by the competent authorities determined by the university.

7. The applicant must provide a certificate of good conduct from the security authorities in his country.

8. The applicant must be medically fit, able to fulfill the study program's criteria and pass the medical examination as specified by the rules and guidelines.

9. If nominated for admission to any track of the common first-year or bachelor's degree program, the non-Arabic-speaking applicant will be admitted to the Diploma Program for Proficiency in the Arabic Language. Then, after passing the diploma program, the applicant will be accepted into the original bachelor's program.

UNIL grants around ten scholarships a year.

The scholarship is granted for the minimum statutory period of the programme chosen by the student. It amounts to CHF 1,600 per month (for more details refer to the “General conditions for the award of a Master’s Excellence Grant”, article 10).

Candidates are made aware of the fact that the sum of the scholarship awarded is not sufficient to live in Switzerland. It is not a fully funded scholarship.

With regard to this, we invite candidates to consult the page about the reference budget of a student at UNIL.

Students offered a scholarship will be exempt from the fixed registration fees for the courses, with the exception of the CHF 80.00 fees to be paid each semester.

The deadline for an application is November 1st to begin a master’s degree during the following academic year, in the autumn semester or the spring semester (if the programme allows). The online application must be sent until that date. For the certified copies in a sealed envelope of the university (if required) the date of the post mark will attest to the date sent (last deadline November 1st).
