#加拿大總理 #馬克卡尼(#MarkCarney)於週日(3月23日)宣佈 #解散國會，並確定第45屆加拿大聯邦大選，將於4月28日提前舉行。這次選舉將選出343名聯邦下議院議員，決定加拿大未來的政治路向。

#人權組織 #香港監察(#HongKongWatch)表示：來自香港的移民鄭敬基(#JoeTay)獲加拿大保守黨(Conservative Party of Canada)提名，將代表競逐 #多倫多 #DonValleyNorth 選區的國會議席。

挑戰 #自由黨傳統票倉：鄭敬基的參選不僅是個人政治生涯的重要里程碑，更可能從此改變 #加拿大華人社群的政治版圖。Don Valley North 選區長期由 #自由黨(Liberal Party of Canada)掌控，現任國會議員 #董晗鵬(#HanDong)曾因涉及「#中國干預加拿大選舉」而備受爭議。

鄭敬基：從藝人到被香港政府通緝….

曾是香港娛樂圈藝人的鄭敬基，後來移居加拿大，創辦關注香港新聞及時政的《#香港台》（#HongKongChannel），積極為香港移民發聲。在2019年「#反送中運動」後，他公開批評港府及中共政權，並在加拿大支持港人社區的各種民主活動。2023年，香港政府根據《#國安法》發出 #通緝令，將鄭敬基列為「#逃犯」，懸紅100萬港元，指控他涉嫌「煽動分裂國家」及「勾結外國勢力」。對此，鄭敬基強調自己只是行使 #言論自由，並誓言會繼續為香港及海外港人發聲。

Spiking bond yields driving sharp losses in tech stocks

A spike in interest rates since the start of the year has accelerated a rotation out of high-growth technology stocks and into value stocks poised to benefit from a reopening of the economy. The Nasdaq has fallen more than 10% over the past month as the Dow has soared to record highs, with a spike in the 10-year US Treasury yield acting as the main catalyst. It recently surged to a cycle high of more than 1.60% after starting the year below 1%. But according to Jim Paulsen, the Leuthold Group's chief investment strategist, rising interest rates do not represent a long-term threat to the stock market. Paulsen expects the 10-year yield to cross 2% by the end of the year. A spike in interest rates and its impact on the stock market depends on the economic backdrop, according to Paulsen. Rising interest rates amid a strengthening economy "may prove no challenge at all for stocks," Paulsen said.

How Does Bitcoin Work?

Bitcoin is built on a distributed digital record called a blockchain. As the name implies, blockchain is a linked body of data, made up of units called blocks that contain information about each and every transaction, including date and time, total value, buyer and seller, and a unique identifying code for each exchange. Entries are strung together in chronological order, creating a digital chain of blocks. “Once a block is added to the blockchain, it becomes accessible to anyone who wishes to view it, acting as a public ledger of cryptocurrency transactions,” says Stacey Harris, consultant for Pelicoin, a network of cryptocurrency ATMs. Blockchain is decentralized, which means it’s not controlled by any one organization. “It’s like a Google Doc that anyone can work on,” says Buchi Okoro, CEO and co-founder of African cryptocurrency exchange Quidax. “Nobody owns it, but anyone who has a link can contribute to it. And as different people update it, your copy also gets updated.”
