Sir Jim Ratcliffe feels the squad is good enough to qualify for the Champions League this season, and that Amorim's job security will be more seriously discussed if the side is not on course for European football as the season progresses.

Man Utd have announced a RECORD revenue of £666.5m, despite no Champions League football.

Commercial revenues in the fourth quarter amounted to £88.2m, and reached a record level of £333.3m for fiscal year 2025.

Matchday revenues in the fourth quarter amounted to £37.2m and contributed to a record of £160.3m for fiscal year 2025.

The club records a loss of £18.4m, compared to £69.3m for fiscal year 2024.

For fiscal year 2026, revenue between £640m and £660m is expected.

Depreciation and impairment for the year was £17.0 million, an increase of £0.5 million, or 3.0%, over the prior year.

Exceptional items for the year were a cost of £36.6 million, as a result of compensation for loss of office costs incurred in relation to the restructuring of the club’s operations, as well as costs associated with the departure of former men’s first team head coach Erik ten Hag and various members of football staff.

Profit on disposal of intangible assets for the year was £48.7 million, compared to £37.4 million for the prior year.

Net finance costs for the year were £21.2 million, compared to net finance costs of £61.4 million for the prior year, a decrease of £40.2 million, or 65.5%.

The income tax credit for the year was £6.6 million, compared to a credit of £17.5 million in the prior year.

Overall cash and cash equivalents (including the effects of exchange rate movements) increased by £12.5 million in the year, compared to a decrease of £2.5 million in the prior year. #MUFC

Manchester United netted record matchday and commercial revenues, the latter thanks largely to the deal with front-of-shirt sponsor Snapdragon.

They also point to the club’s EBITDA – earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, as being the highest of any club in Europe since the Covid pandemic, at £182.5m. EBITDA is viewed within the industry as a key indicator of the performance of a business.

Manchester United’s USD non-current borrowings as of 30 June 2025 were $650 million, which remains unchanged from 30 June 2024. As a result of the year-on-year change in the USD/GBP exchange rate from 1.2643 at 30 June 2024 to 1.3709 at 30 June 2025, our non-current borrowings when converted to GBP were £471.9 million, compared to £511.0 million at the prior year end.

In addition to non-current borrowings, the Group maintains a revolving credit facility which varies based on seasonal flow of funds. Current borrowings, including accrued interest, at 30 June 2025 were £165.1 million compared to £35.6 million at 30 June 2024.

As of 30 June 2025, cash and cash equivalents were £86.1 million compared to £73.5 million at 30 June 2024. This movement is detailed further in the Statement of Cash Flows on page 13 of this report. #MUFC

“I think there’s two things. First of all the big losses we saw at Old Trafford in 2024, they’re down £130 million to £40 million so that’s a step in the right direction.

The wages that United players are on partly due to not paying bonuses. Manchester United have a very incentivised wage system and that won’t have kicked in due to a poor league finish last season and not winning the Europa League, these are the good things.

The not so good things is that United had to borrow a lot more money again last year so we’re looking at levels of debt not seen for around 15 years. Hopefully we’re close to the peak of that unless the clubs going to borrow to build the new stadium.
